Dr. Mims’s goal is to see new patients within two weeks of initial contact. One of the reasons Dr. Mims was inspired to open her own clinic was to provide patients with more timely access to care and greater flexibility than is often possible within the public healthcare system. Dr. Mims believes that when you are seeking care, you should not have to wait unnecessarily to receive the support and attention you need.
-
No, Dr. Mims does not accept insurance. As a solo practitioner, Dr. Mims is able to provide thoughtful, individualized care without the constraints of a traditional insurance based practice. Her goal is to make care feel personal, straightforward, and accessible, with transparent pricing that is often significantly less than what may be billed through insurance. Patients will receive the care they need quickly without the delays that are often associated with prior authorizations, required referrals, and insurance approvals. Privately insured patients can submit for partial reimbursement through their insurance. However, medicare/medicaid patients cannot submit for reimbursement per federal law.
Ultimately, this approach gives Dr. Mims the freedom to provide the kind of care she believes patients deserve: attentive, timely, and centered around their individual needs.
Privately insured patients can submit for partial reimbursement through their insurance but medicare/medicaid patients cannot submit for reimbursement per federal law.

Dr. Mims provides comprehensive insomnia evaluations via a detailed patient history covering bedtime and daytime routines, sleep environment, medications, wearable technology data, and sleep study findings when indicated. Relevant laboratory work, including hormone levels, may be reviewed as well. Independent assessment, home sleep study–based diagnosis, and management of obstructive sleep apnea are also available.
-
Dr. Mims is not affiliated with an in-laboratory sleep facility and thus cannot offer attended in-laboratory polysomnography. For that reason, Dr. Mims is unable to appropriately evaluate and manage patients under 16 years of age, patients with suspected disorders of excessive daytime sleepiness (including narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia), or patients with complex sleep-disordered breathing (including central sleep apnea and treatment-emergent central sleep apnea). Patients who require these evaluations will be referred to an appropriate sleep laboratory or specialist.

Men are absolutely welcome too! While Dr. Mims has a special interest in women’s sleep health, as women experience insomnia at higher rates, Dr. Mims believes everyone deserves a good night’s sleep. Dr. Mims welcomes both women and men who are looking for personalized, effective care to improve their sleep and overall well-being.
